Jack Lift Tools and Kits recalled

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Jack Lift Tools and Kits due to due to a collapse hazard.

The lawn mower jacks, made by Shivvers Manufacturing Inc., of Corydon, Iowa, have failed repeatedly due to threads stripping or nuts breaking, the Commission said in a statement Friday.

About 450 of the jacks were sold at Country Clipper dealers nationwide between May 2007 and June 2008 for $150. The full jack kit sold for $225, the commission said.

The jacks are sold separately and with Charger, JAZee and Boss riding lawn mowers.

Consumers were advised to stop using the jacks and contact a local service dealer to have their lawn mowers repaired at no charge.
