Consumer Corner: Foreclosure settlement no magic bullet for economy

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of TBS Imports toy police cars due to a violation of lead pain standards.
About 3,000 of the toy cars, imported from China by TCB Imports of Vernon, Calif., were sold at dollar and discount stores from May 2008 through August 2008 for about $1, the commission said.
The red paint on the cars contains high levels of lead, the commission said in a statement.
The toy cars, 8 inches long and about 4 inches high, were sold in red/white and purple/white color combinations.
Consumers were advised to take the toys from children and return them to the retailer for a refund.
Consumers can call 888-674-5497 for information.
