Consumer Corner: Foreclosure settlement no magic bullet for economy

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Swedish car company Volvo has announced it would layoff 900 workers, three months after it trimmed its workforce by 1,700.
Volvo recently said it would cut 1,200 workers at plants in Gothenburg and Olofstrom and 500 consultant positions.
"We looking at a redundancy of about 900 people on account of our lower sales. We need to fit into a new suit and can't afford to be adding to the team," Volvo spokesperson Olle Axelson told Swedish news agency Tidningarnas Telegrambyra.
