CHICAGO, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Grain prices trended mostly down on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday in sympathy with falling crude oil prices and in opposition to a stronger dollar.
At the Chicago Board of Trade, corn was off 6 1/2 to off 7 1/4, soybeans were off 47 to off 50 1/2, wheat was up 7 3/4 to up 8 1/4 and oats were off 7 to off 8.
Corn prices dropped as traders said lower prices have slowed selling. Wheat prices gained as Egypt purchased 292,500 metric tons from the United States, Canada and Ukraine. Soybean prices fell with beneficial rains expected to continue in several U.S. soy belt areas.

Corn: Sep 5.46 1/2, off 6 1/2; Dec 5.62 1/4, off 7; Mar 5.81, off 7; May 5.93, off 7 1/4.
Soybeans: Sep 12.51, off 50 1/2; Nov 12.51 1/2, off 47; Jan 12.68 1/2, off 47, Mar 12.80 3/4, off 47.
Wheat: Sep 7.52 1/4, up 8; Dec 7.74 3/4, up 8; Mar 7.98 1/2, up 7 3/4; May 8.13 1/4, up 8 1/4.
Oats: Sep 3.37, off 7; Dec 3.52, off 8; Mar 3.69 1/2, off 8; May 3.81 1/2, off 8.
