Corn harvest in Iran

CHICAGO, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Grain prices lifted on weather concerns with a pirated ship coming into play on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday.

Corn was up 10 1/4 to up 10 3/4, soybeans were up 22 to up 26 3/4, wheat was up 29 1/4 to up 29 3/4 and oats were off 1 1/2.

The Midwest corn belt expects dry weather to persist through the next ten days. Dryness in Argentina and Australia is, again, propping up wheat, traders said. Soybean traders contemplated a possible resumption of a farmers' strike in Argentina and took note of a Malaysian palm oil tanker hijacked near Somalia.

The prices:

Soybeans: Sep 12.93 3/4, up 26 3/4; Nov 13.00, up 24; Jan 13.17 1/4, up 23 1/4, Mar 13.30 1/2, up 22.
