Corn up, wheat and soybeans down Tuesday

CHICAGO, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Grain prices were mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Tuesday with corn prices gaining, while wheat and soybeans prices fell.

Corn was up 11 3/4 to up 12, soybeans were off 12 to off 13 3/4, wheat was off 14 1/2 and oats were off 6 1/2 to off 7.

Traders said South Korean mills would likely return to a buying position. Japan and Pakistan put out tenders, Pakistan's set at 250,000 metric tons indefinitely. Dry weather is beginning to impact Midwest and Eastern soybeans areas, traders said.

The prices:

Corn: Sep 5.64 3/4, up 11 3/4; Dec 5.84 1/2, up 11 3/4, Mar 6.03 3/4, up 12; May 6.15 1/4, up 11 3/4.

Soybeans: Sep 12.67, off 12; Nov 12.76, off 13; Jan 12.94, off 12 3/4, Mar 13.08 1/2, off 13 3/4.

Wheat: Sep 8.45 1/4, off 14 1/2; Dec 8.70 1/4, off 14 1/2; Mar 8.94 1/2, off 14 1/2; May 9.10 1/4, off 14 1/2.

Oats: Sep 3.69 1/2, off 6 1/2; Dec 3.89, off 6 1/2; Mar 4.07 1/4, off 7; May 4.18, off 7.
