WASHINGTON, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Progress Lighting ceiling light fixtures due to a possible impact hazard.
No injuries have been reported but Progress Lighting of Greenville, S.C. has received three reports of incidents, including one report of a fixture falling from a ceiling.
About 6,000 fixtures were sold from various Home Depot and Expo Design Centers nationwide from January 2005 through May 2008 for between $180 and $1,000.
Several models are involved in the recall. The fixtures include frosted white glass and a brushed aluminum finish, CPSC said in a statement.
Consumers were advised to remove the glass from the fixture and contact Progress Lighting for a free inspection and replacement.
Consumers can also call Progress Lighting at 866-418-5543 for information.
