WASHINGTON, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Perfect Flame Double Lid Four Burner Gas Grills because of a fire hazard.
The grills were made by Lucas Innovation Inc. of China and sold through Lowe's Home Centers Inc. of North Wilkesboro, N.C. and Lowe's HIW Inc. of Tukwila, Wash., CPSC said in a statement.
About 24,000 grills were sold from between October 2007 and July 2008 for about $300.
The grills cooking chambers can melt or ignite, posing a fire and burn hazard, CPSC said.
The grills involved in the recall are Model GAC3615 four-burner LP gas grills. The grill has two lids and "Perfect Flame" is printed on the larger lid.
CPSC advised consumers to stop using the recalled grills and disconnect the propane tanks. The grills can be returned to a Lowe's store for a full refund, CPSC said.
Consumers can also call Lucas Innovation at 877-385-8226 for information.
