WASHINGTON, July 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of RadioShack power supplies due to electrocution and fire hazards.
The 13.8V DC power supplies, imported by RadioShack Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas, are wired incorrectly, a CPSC statement said. No injuries have been reported.
About 160,000 of the power supply units were sold from October 2004 through January 2008 for $50-$85.
The units, made in China, are listed with catalog numbers 22-507 and 22-508 with date codes 08A04 through 01A08. In the date codes, the number preceding the "A" indicates the month, while the number following the "A" indicates the year.
Consumers were advised to stop using the power supplies and return them to a RadioShack outlet for a free repair.
Consumers can call RadioShack at 800-843-7422 for information.
