LONDON, June 30 (UPI) -- Consumer confidence in Britain has fallen to lows unseen since March 1990 at the start of Britain's last recession, a research group said.

The overall confidence index in Britain recorded by researchers at GfK NOP is minus 34, close to the minus 35 recorded 18 years ago, The Times of London reported Monday.

Sentiment about the future of the British economy is lower than it has been since 1982 and the current conditions index is at its lowest point since 1992, the report said.

Along with declining confidence, home sales have dropped to the lowest level in 30 years with the average home value falling 1 percent in June, the report said.
