WASHINGTON, June 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Miracle Recreation tire swings due to a fall hazard.
The hanger clamp on the playground swings, made by Miracle Recreation Equipment Co. of Monett, Mo., can detach, a CPSC statement said. Three injuries have been reported, including two cuts requiring stitches and a fractured foot, CPSC said.
About 1,400 of the swings were sold to schools, parks and municipalities from February 1995 to March 2008, retailing for $570-$2,100.
The swings are comprised of a horizontal tire attached to an overhead bar by three chains.
The recall includes the Kids' Choice Arch Tire Swing Sets and extensions and the Swing Swivel Replacement with model No. 278.
Consumers were advised to remove the tire swings until a free repair kit can be installed.
Consumers can also call Miracle Recreation at 800-523-4202, ext. 683, for information.
