SYDNEY, June 22 (UPI) -- Australia's Qantas Airways Limited called off dozens of flights scheduled for the coming days because engineers are on a pay strike, a spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said six Monday domestic flights out of Sydney and Melbourne were called off, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Sunday.

Eighteen additional flights impacting Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are expected to be called off Tuesday, the spokeswoman said.

She added that airline officials made attempts to reach all impacted passengers and their flights have been rescheduled.
