WASHINGTON, May 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Kids Station Little Tikes cell phones due to a choking hazard.
The hinge cover on the Little Tikes Chit 'N Chat toy phones can detach and choke a small child, a CPSC statement said. Three incidents of the toys breaking, including one near-choking incident, have have been reported.
About 1 million of the Chit 'N Chat toys were sold nationwide from June 2006 through March 2008, retailing for $8-$20. The multicolored toy phones have a 10-key numerical button pad rattle and three buttons with pictures of animals.
Model numbers KSL4010, KSL8032, KSL8033 and KSL8051 are involved in the recall.
Consumers were advised to take the toys from children immediately and contact Kids Station Toys International Ltd. of Miami, Fla., for instructions on receiving a free replacement.
