Yellow Sure Grip paint brushes recalled

WASHINGTON, May 22 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of yellow Sure Grip paint brushes, due to excessive lead paint.

The brushes, imported from China by Early Childhood Resources LLC of Mt. Laurel, N.J., have painted handles. In the set, which includes handles of different colors, the yellow-handled brush exceeds safety thresholds for lead, the CPSC said in a statement.

Only yellow-handled brushes are involved in the recall, CPSC said.

About 900 brush sets were sold between May 2007 and December 2007 in packages of four brushes each through teacher supply distributors.

Consumers were advised to stop using the brushes and contact Early Childhood Resources for a free replacement.

Consumers can also call Early Childhood Resources at 888-227-9028 for more information.
