WASHINGTON, May 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall Monday of Daiso children's rain ponchos due to a possible strangulation hazard.

The Chinese-made ponchos, imported by Daiso LLC of Burlingame, Calif., were sold in yellow or blue and include a drawstring through the hood that could strangle a child, a CPSC release said Monday.

The ponchos were sold at Daiso retail stores between February 2007 and November 2007 for about $1.50.

Consumers were advised to remove the drawstrings immediately.

Consumers can also call Daiso at 866-768-4620 for more information.
