WASHINGTON, May 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall Tuesday of Weil-McLain CGs and CGi gas broilers due to carbon monoxide gas hazard.
No injuries have been reported, but leaks in the vent pipe of the cast iron, gas-fired broilers used as space heaters could result in a carbon monoxide build up in buildings in which they are installed, a CPSC statement said.
About 32,000 of the units were sold through plumbing and heating distributors between October 2001 and December 2007 for between $1,700 and $2,700.
Consumers are advised to contact their installer for a free inspection and repair, if necessary.
Consumers can also call Weil-McLain at 866-783-9276 for more information.
