Groupon starts refund program

PRINCETON, N.J., May 1 (UPI) -- Expectations for further increases in gasoline prices have soared as the economy has slumped, a Gallup poll released Thursday indicated.
Nine in 10 Americans in a Gallup survey indicated they now expect the price of gasoline to hit $4 per gallon by summer. But one in five would not be surprised if the price hit $5 a gallon and one in 20 expect to see $6 gasoline by the end of summer.
More than half of the respondents -- 52 percent -- indicated the price of gas had caused significant changes in their normal spending habits, Gallup said.
The survey of 1,008 adults conducted April 25-27 carries a 3 point margin of error, Gallup said.
