WASHINGTON, April 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall Tuesday of 2007 and 2008 Performance Travel Trac Trainers.

The company, Performance Inc., of Chapel Hill, N.C., has received three reports of springs releasing from the trainers, which turn standard bicycles into stationary trainers.

No injuries have been reported but the released springs could pose a puncture hazard, CPSC reported.

About 3,000 of three recalled models were sold between October 2006 and March 2008, retailing between $300 and $400.

Travel Trac models recalled are the Inertial with catalog number 40-3834, the I-Force Wireless numbered 40-3833 and the Millennium I-Force numbered 40-3656.

Consumers were advised to stop using the trainers and return them to Performance stores for refund or repair.
