Heathrow terminal directors depart

LONDON, April 15 (UPI) -- Two British Airways directors are leaving the company just weeks after Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 opened with a long list of problems, BA said Tuesday.

Director of Operations Gareth Kirkwood and Director of Customer Service David Noyes are departing. The two jobs will be replaced with one, a chief operations officer, the airline said in a statement.

The airline did not say if the two directors had resigned or been fired, The Times of London reported.

BA also announced it would delay the transfer of long-haul services from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5 until June.

"It is only sensible to ensure that Terminal 5 is operating consistently at a high standard before the move begins," Chief Executive Willie Walsh said in a statement.
