SCHAUMBURG, Ill., April 10 (UPI) -- Motorola Inc. will replace retiring chairman Ed Zander with the former chairman and chief executive officer of AT&T, David Dorman, the company announced.
Dorman, 54, is the managing director at Warburg Pincus and Co. He served as president of AT&T in 2000 and became their chairman and CEO in 2002, stepping down from that post in Nov. 2005, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Zander resigned as chief executive of Motorola in late last year, but maintained the chairmanship.
Dorman, in a statement, said Motorola "has tremendous assets and talented people."
He was "confident in the actions (current chief executive) Greg Brown, our management team and board are taking," he said.
