Citigroup will still issue the cards and both Diners Club and Discover cards will be honored at the same locations, the company said Monday.

Discover will not issue Diners Club cards, the Chicago Tribune reported. It will take over the card's payment network and brand name, but not its licensees in North America, the paper reported.

The $165 million purchase will close within 90 days, the paper said.
