Crude oil prices finish near record

NEW YORK, March 7 (UPI) -- The price of crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange dipped Friday, then climbed above $105 per barrel to finish the week.

The price fell to just above $103 per barrel Friday, then gained back lost ground, hitting $105.47 per barrel, up 17 cents on the day.

Heating oil prices gained 0.0075 cents in late trading to $2.9545 per gallon.

The price of reformulated blendstock gasoline lost marginally to $2.6935 per gallon, down 0.0008 cents.

Natural gas prices rose 0.003 cents in late trading to $9.772 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline in the United States climbed to $3.189 per gallon, the AAA Fuel Gauge Report said, up from Thursday's price of $3.185 per gallon. The national average price a year ago was $2.507 per gallon.
