DETROIT, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- General Motors Corp. said Friday it will recall more than 275,000 vehicles in the United States because of a fluid leak problem.
The automaker also said another 38,000 GM vehicles will be called back in Mexico, Canada, the Middle East and Asia.
The problem is the rear-axle pinion seal that could leak fluid and cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles, MarketWatch reported.
The recalls cover the Cadillac CTS sedan, the SRX crossover vehicle and the STS sedan from model years 2005 to 2007, the Pontiac Solstice from 2006 and 2007, and 2007 Saturn Sky convertible.
GM spokesman Alan Adler said that there has been one accident and one injury linked to the defect.
The automaker said the recall is expected to begin in February.
