BOSTON, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Talk between Donald Trump and Wonderland Greyhound Park about building a casino in Massachusetts is setting up a potential turf war between Trump and a rival.

Wonderland owner Charles Sarkis said Trump called him Monday to set up discussions to develop the resort casino, The Boston Globe said. The discussions signal the intense atmosphere among developers trying to get plans in place in response to Gov. Deval Patrick's proposal to license three casinos statewide.

A Trump bid for the Revere site could set up a battle with East Boston's Suffolk Downs, operated by a Trump business rival Richard Fields, who also wants to build a casino.

Fields and Trump had a falling out over a casino partnership and are currently embroiled in a $1 billion lawsuit in Florida's Broward County over a Florida casino deal gone bust.

Trump executives have been scouting potential casino sites around Massachusetts. Sarkis' confirmation, however, is the first time a possible Trump location was identified in the Boston metro area.

"He was very intrigued by the situation. He said the Boston area is a place where there should be a casino. It makes all the sense in the world," said Sarkis.
