WASHINGTON, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntary nationwide recall of a dietary supplement sold under the name Encore Tabs.
Bodee LLC of Century City, Calif., initiated the recall after a FDA lab analysis found the supplement -- sold in two-capsule blister packs -- might contain potentially harmful, undeclared ingredients. The FDA said it found one lot of Encore Tabs contained aminotadalafil, an analog of tadalafil, the active ingredient of a FDA-approved drug used for erectile dysfunction.
The FDA said the undeclared chemical poses a health threat since it might interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs and might lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.
The company said consumers can call 800-935-0296 for instructions on the return and refund process.
