
WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Disney has recalled 35,000 Baby Einstein toy blocks made in China with potentially hazardous lead paint.
Einstein was one of more than a 500,000 additional Chinese-manufactured toys found to contain dangerous amounts of lead, the Consumer Products Safety Commission announced Thursday.
Other recalls included shaped “Pirates of the Caribbean” flashlights, cups shaped like Frankenstein monster’s head, Totally Me! Funky Room Decor Set decorating kits imported and sold by Toys “R” Us Inc. and a variety of wooden toys imported and sold by KB Toys Inc.
Some recalls included products not necessarily meant for children, including key chains. bookmarks and journals with lead-tainted surface paint, all from China, Newsinferno.com reported.
Since August, toy giant Mattel has issued three recalls of toys with hazardous magnets and lead paint. The CPSC recalled another 500,000 toys distributed by various companies that contained too much lead last week.
