MOSCOW, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The Iraqi foreign minister said in Moscow Friday he expects Russia to write off 80 percent of Iraq’s debt by year’s end.

Hoshiyar Zebari said that during the Moscow talks Iraq “saw Moscow’s understanding of the debt write-off issue,” Tass-Itar reported.

Officials of the two nations are expected to meet in Moscow in December to deal with the situation.
