NEW YORK, July 19 (UPI) -- A major dispute reportedly has erupted between Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone and his daughter, board member and heir apparent Shari Redstone.

The upheaval is expected to force her departure, a source told The Wall Street Journal.

Representatives of the pair are said to be working out a separation from the family's media empire, which includes CBS.

Redstone, 84, and his daughter have reportedly been at odds over a variety of issues over the years, the Journal said, recently over the future of the National Amusements theater chain.

Redstone's son Brent received a buyout earlier year as settlement to a lawsuit he filed against the company and his sister was said to want a similar arrangement, the newspaper said.
