SEOUL, June 28 (UPI) -- Union workers at Hyundai, South Korea's biggest automaker, staged a partial strike Thursday against a free trade agreement with the United States.

The workers were off the job for four hours, and plan to repeat the work stoppage for six hours Friday, a union official told the Yonhap news service.

Hyundai workers joined the weeklong nationwide protests organized by the Korean Metal Workers' Union. They claim the pending U.S. trade pact threatens their jobs.
