SOFIA, Bulgaria, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Bulgaria has signed a $131 million contract with a Spanish firm to build a bridge over the Danube River and into Romania.
The road and rail bridge will link the western Bulgarian town of Vidin with Calafat, in Romania and is considered a key point on the European transport corridor from Germany to Turkey, the Bulgarian news agency SNA reported Tuesday.

The Spanish company Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas will design and built the bridge over the next four years. The bridge is to have two road lanes in each direction and one railroad line.
