Report: U.S. job dissatisfaction grows

NEW YORK, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. workforce's confidence in the job market fell in December, in part as a result of lowered job satisfaction, a staffing-services report said Wednesday.

The Hudson Employment Index's drop of 2.6 points to 102.7 was also due to increased concerns about job security, Hudson said in a release.

The number of workers stating they were happy with their jobs fell two points to 73 percent, the fewest since August 2005. The number of workers worried about losing their jobs rose one point to 18 percent.

Even with these lower readings, hiring expectations held steady, Hudson said, and December's index was generally in line with readings throughout the second half of the year.

The latest index also fell short of last December's, when it registered 103.4.
