LONDON, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- An executive for the British oil giant BP has slammed his company's leadership as one that "doesn't listen sufficiently well" to the workers.
Tony Hayward, BP's chief executive for exploration and production, wrote on the company Web site: "The top of the organization doesn't listen hard enough to what the bottom of the organization is saying," The Telegraph reported.
He criticized a lack of long-range planning and said the idea of getting 100 percent of the job done with 90 percent of the resources might work but only if "deployed with great judgment and wisdom."
Hayward's comments come during a tough time for BP, currently facing a criminal investigation as well as inquiries by regulators and congressional investigations amid allegations the company neglected its infrastructure for years to boost profits.
