NEW YORK, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has hired EDO Corp. to support the military branch's development of an unmanned aircraft system.
The 5-year "task order," which has a maximum value of $37 million, calls for the New York company to supply "programmatic support" to the Army system, EDO said Friday in a news release.

Unmanned aircraft systems are remotely piloted or self-piloted aircraft that can carry cameras, communications equipment, weapons or other devices.
EDO will provide services such as logistics planning, strategic planning, acquisition support, cost analysis, training and testing.
