Boeing sells four 747-8 freighters

CHICAGO, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Guggenheim Aviation Partners LLC, a U.S. aviation investment firm, has ordered four Boeing 747-8 Freighters at the combined list price of $1.12 billion.

Guggenheim, which ordered the aircraft for one of its investment funds, also acquired the option to order an additional two airplanes, Boeing said in a news release Tuesday. Deliveries begin in 2009.

Investment funds managed by Guggenheim own 30 Boeing aircraft, including a fleet of seven 747-400s that will be modified.

"Including today's order, 44 747-8 Freighters have been ordered by five customers since program launch in November 2005," Boeing said.
