U.S. markets recover from steep losses

TUCSON, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Raytheon Co. has landed a $112.9 million Pentagon contract for delivery of an undisclosed number of medium-range air-to-air missiles.
The AIM-120D configuration of the so-called Amraam missile includes "enhanced data link, improved kinematics and GPS Inertial Measurement Unit capability," Raytheon said in a news release Friday.
Work on the contract, which calls for delivery of missiles from 2007 through 2009, will be done primarily at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson.
