U.S. markets recover from steep losses

RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has approved the purchase of McKesson Medical-Surgical assets by Virginia's Owens & Minor Inc.
OMI is buying assets of the acute-care medical and surgical supply distribution business of McKesson Medical-Surgical, a business unit of McKesson Corp.
The $170 million deal is set to close by Oct. 1.
