U.S. markets recover from steep losses

TOKYO, May 31 (UPI) -- Suzuki Motor Co. is considering making minicars for Japan's Nissan Motor Co. as a way of boosting weak domestic sales.
If current negotiations succeed, Nissan could begin selling a Suzuki-made minicar by next March, Asahai Shimbun reported Wednesday. In exchange, Nissan would supply a minivan or other vehicle to Suzuki.
"Minivehicles are strategically important," Nissan Chief Operating Officer Toshiyuki Shiga said. "We want to put an end to our shrinking customer base by expanding the product lineup and offering more choices."
