Insignificant drop in U.S. crude oil stock

WASHINGTON, May 24 (UPI) -- U.S. crude oil inventories fell last week by 100,000 barrels, the Energy Department reported Wednesday.

At 346.9 million barrels, the nation's crude oil supplies were well above the upper end of their average range for this time of year, however.

Gasoline inventories rose 1.3 million barrels to a point that is slightly above the lower end of their average range.

Diesel fuel supplies fell and heating oil supplies rose for an overall 100,000 barrel decline in the country's distillate fuel stocks.
