Pfizer bows out of Korean manufacturing

SEOUL, April 19 (UPI) -- Pfizer Inc. is closing its Seoul pharmaceutical plant, a facility that makes the hypertension drug Norvasc.

That medication accounted for a third of Pfizer's South Korean revenue last year, the Chosun Ilbo reported Wednesday.

Pfizer is the latest in a string of multinational pharmaceutical firms that have decided to withdraw their plants from South Korea.
