LONDON, March 29 (UPI) -- British girls have the lowest self-esteem in the world, with 92 percent of them wanting to change the way they look, a survey concludes.

By age 12, 75 percent of British girls dislike something about their appearance. By age 16, 25 percent are considering plastic surgery to change their looks, The London Daily Mail reported.

The survey by soap, hair-care and personal product provider Dove reached its conclusion in a worldwide survey of 3,330 females aged 16-64.

"It's important to encourage young women to accept themselves for who they are and campaign for more positive celebrity role models," said Holly Willoughby, who is featured in Dove's BodyTalk advertising campaign.
