NBC paying $600 million for iVillage

NEW YORK, March 6 (UPI) -- NBC Universal will pay about $600 million to buy New York-based iVillage Inc., a group of content properties for women, girls and parents.

The all-cash deal, set to close by July 1, gets the General Electric-controlled network a cluster of online and offline media-based properties that offer proprietary content, community applications, tools and interactive features, NBC said Monday.
