LONDON, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- A U.S.-Norwegian survey has found that men over the age of 50 are happier with their sex lives than younger ones despite having more problems.
The findings were based on a survey of 1,185 men, ages 20 to 79, reports Britain's Telegraph newspaper. The survey, published in the February issue of the British Journal of Urology, found the 50-plus men were more satisfied than those in their 30's and 40's.
Compared with men between 20 and 29, the 50-plus men showed similar contentment, despite problems such as getting an erection, the report said.
"Our results show that although men experience more problems and less sexual function as they get older, it doesn't necessarily follow that they are less satisfied with their sex lives as a result," said Professor Sophie Fossa, one of the researchers.
