WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A U.S. grand jury indicted three former officials of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s General Re unit and a former American International Group Inc.

The federal panel indicted former General Re chief executive Ronald Ferguson, former General Re top financial officer Elizabeth Monrad, General Re's former No. 2 in-house lawyer Robert Graham and the former head of AIG's reinsurance operations, Christian Milton.

Each was charged with conspiracy to commit fraud, the Wall Street Journal said Thursday.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is also expected to announce that it is filing civil charges against the executives for aiding and abetting securities fraud, a person familiar with the matter said.
