SAS workers in Norway win big decision

OSLO, Norway, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- About 300 former employees of a Norwegian airline taken over by airline SAS won a major victory Tuesday in Norway's Supreme Court.

Norway's highest court ruled that Scandinavian airline SAS must honor the benefits and seniority employees had built up during the years they worked for the now defunct airline Braathens, which SAS took over in late 2000.

Around 325 Braathens workers took SAS to court when they weren't given credit for the workplace benefits they had built up during their tenure at Braathens, the Aftenposten said.
