LONDON, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- A top official of European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. said the company intends to renew efforts to buy France's Thales, the military electronics firm.
EADS, which owns 80 percent of Airbus SA, has already tried once to buy the Franco-British company, in which Paris holds a 30-percent interest, the Guardian said Tuesday.

French ministers rebuffed EADS initial run at Thales in 2004.
However, both Berlin and Paris are believed to be behind an EADS acquisition of Thales, which is designing two aircraft carriers.
