LONDON, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- More British parents are moving in with their children because of poor pensions and to help provide child care, a survey found.

Currently, about 4 percent of households containing adults age 35 to 64 have parents living with them, but the survey by real estate agency Propertyfinder, found 16 percent of British adults were considering moving a parent into their home, the Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.

Many in retirement were struggling on annual incomes of $19,000, so it made "financial sense" for parents to move in with adult children, according to Propertyfinder.
