
DETROIT, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Sales of vehicles in the United States last month were generally weaker than year-earlier levels.
U.S. carmakers uniformly did poorly. General Motors Corp. sales last month were off 11 percent from last November's level. Ford Motor Co. U.S. sales fell 15 percent, and DaimlerChrylser AG said November sales were off 2.7 percent.
Japan's carmakers posted mixed results. Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. said November sales were up 5.6 percent from the year-earlier level. Meanwhile, total Honda and Acura sales gained 6.4 percent over last year to 105,860, shattering a three-year old record. But Nissan North America Inc. saw a 7.8 percent sales decrease.
Volvo Cars of North America LLC said its sales fell 21.5 percent in November.
