China's GDP ripping along at 9.4 percent

BEIJING, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- China's economy grew at a blistering 9.4 percent during the first nine months of this year.

Beijing's National Bureau of Statistics said preliminary estimates show China's gross domestic product totaled $1.3 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 9.4 percent, a 0.1 percentage point decline from the growth of a year earlier, the government's Xinhua news agency said Thursday.

The economy showed a steady growth momentum with GDP growth rates standing at 9.4 percent, 9.5 percent and 9.4 percent for the first, second and third quarter, respectively, the NBS said.
