Ukraine's new PM to end privatizations

KIEV, Ukraine, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Ukraine's new prime minister Thursday said the government would not continue privatizing companies.

Yuriy Yekhanurov said his first goal would be to restore trust in the central government, not shrink it, the Novosti news agency said.

His predecessor was criticized by some for apparently less-than-equitable ways of privatizing national industrial companies.

"The authorities should make the first steps toward business, moving on from tough control to support," Yekhanurov said.
