The money will go to eMobile Ltd., the mobile subsidiary of eAccess, as it prepares to start its cellular business, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc. is a partner with Goldman Sachs and eAccess and is also contributing capital.
Japan already has three major mobile phone operators, NTT DoCoMo Inc., KDDI Corp. and the Japan unit of London's Vodafone Group PLC.
